Josephine Morrow is Girl One, the first of nine "Miracle Babies" conceived without male DNA, raised on an experimental commune known as the Homestead. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Sara Flannery Murphy and her family divided their time between the capital city and the Arkansas Ozarks. After studying Library Science in British Columbia, she received her MFA in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis and began getting shorter works accepted in such publications as The Guardian and LitHub. Her first novel, The Possessions, published by HarperCollins in 2017, received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and Library Journal, as well as several other honors. Currently, she lives in Southern Utah with her husband and two young sons.
